Regardless of how many times I hear/watch Lang Lang play Frédéric Chopin’s Polonaise in A flat Op 53, I am moved.
The sheer power of his performance; you can almost hear him humming/singing along.
Yes, he has become something of a showman, rather like Liberace, and like Liberace, he brings (classic) music to the masses.
Many I know are not fans of Lang Lang due to his showmanship, his playing style, and celebrity status. But hey, give the guy his due, when he plays, he gives 100% of himself.
