And the Golda goes to Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh

Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh is a Druze-Israeli politician and journalist. She became the first Druze woman to anchor a Hebrew-language news program on Israeli television in 2017. In April 2019, she was elected to the Knesset as a member of the Blue and White alliance, making history as the first Druze woman to become a Member of the Knesset. She was subsequently elected to the Knesset as part of the Blue and White alliance in the September 2019 and March 2020 elections. She left Blue and White on 29 March 2020 and joined Yesh Atid. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gadeer_Mreeh

For the way that Ms. Kamal-Mreeh stood-up to the playground bully, Miki Zohar, she merits much more than a mere Golda.

As always, Ben-Dror Yemini, in his opinion piece of October 1, 2020, hit the nail on the head in his cry for true leadership: ''Israel needs true leadership now” ''The contagion can be fought, but to do this Netanyahu needs to set an example, and he can rise to the occasion by reaching necessary agreements with Gantz, containing the Likud malcontents and engaging in less politicking.’’ https://www.ynetnews.com/article/ryHFhH7Uw

Later, in this article, Ben-Dror Yemini, refers to the confrontation between Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh and Miki Zohar, the latter at the time was acting as deputy Knesset speaker.

‘’Any sliver of uncertainty about why the current precarious situation is the fault of the country’s leadership can easily be erased by listening to the comments from coalition chairman Likud MK Miki Zohar during the debate on the legislation to ban public protests.’’

''From his seat on high, Zohar aggressively attacked a speech by Yesh Atid MK Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh, the first Druze Israeli woman to become a Knesset member, calling it nothing less than “disgusting and gross.”

‘’The only disgusting and gross thing about the entire incident was Zohar's behavior. ‘’

‘’There was certainly nothing disgusting or gross in the speech made by Kamal-Mreeh, who read out a letter to her son, apologizing for the course Israel's government has taken in deciding to prohibit protests.’’

‘’It’s unprecedented for someone in Zohar's lofty position to interrupt a Knesset discussion in such an egregious manner. ‘’

I came across the following earlier today: ‘’On the other side, you saw a fourth-grade bully, a mean-spirited, snarling man, emotionally out of control. He scowled and smirked his way through the entire 90-minute debate.’’

Fareed Zakaria was of course writing about the recent Trump/Biden presidential debate. Yet his words describing Trump ‘’ a fourth-grade bully, a mean-spirited, snarling man, emotionally out of control, scowling and smirking’’ paints a picture of Miki Zohar, Bibi’s leading enforcer.

There is no question, there can be no doubt that Zohar and his Likud cohorts are bullies, ready to jump at every whimsical word uttered by Benjamin Netanyahu. It’s hard to understand how intelligent people can be so blind to what is happening in this country. Maybe that is the problem, they are blinded by Netanyahu rhetoric, his spin. It’s questionable that without Bibi, Zohar and the other nobodies would remain, nobodies. They need, they crave Netanyahu to justify their feeble lives.

But, make no mistake, what goes around come around, and Miki Zohar’s day will come and then we will see how the bullies fall.

Enough of Zohar, and his smirking smile.

Let’s congratulate Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh for following her conscience and moving from Blue and White. Hopefully, with the resignation of Asaf Zamir, others will see the writing on the wall, and understand that Bibi is interested in only Bibi. Everything else is secondary.

And let's hear it for Gadeer Kamal-Mreeh for standing up to the school playground bully, Miki Zohar. Ms. Kamal-Mreeh showed that unlike her many or most of her male colleagues, the lady has balls.
