And in the beginning, man created religion

Someone I used to work with and occasionally exchange thoughts with, has on his WhatsApp account heading the words “In the beginning man created God”.

I’ve written many times about how I am in awe of people who can embrace religion, often without question, and with what appears to be pure dedication and devotion.

To me, it seems all about control and indoctrination.

A rabbi, priest, or iman says ‘this, that, or the other’ and people take it as a truth without it seems the desire to challenge the assertion.

Maybe they adhere to the notion that “You can never triumph in a conversation with a negative person. They only hear what suits them and listen to what are their responses”.

I have realized, somewhat late in life, that I am Jewish by culture and ethos rather than by religion.
